Paper, confidential waste and cardboard
Paper - This can be recycled and in your area you should have bins with clear liners in, the following products can be recycled
- White and coloured office paper
- White and coloured envelopes
- Newspapers
- Leaflets
- Glossy paper
- Hardcover books with covers removed
- Directories
Please remove any plastic or metal binding.
N.B. Confidential waste must not be mixed with the general paper collection or vice-a-versa.
Confidential waste - The University has a confidential paper waste disposal service and collections can be arranged by emailing waste@lboro.ac.uk along with your room number, and the number of bags that you require. The bags will be delivered to you upon this request. When the bags are ready for collection please email again and we will arrange for the bags to be picked up. Please do not leave the bags in corridors as this can become a hazard.
From the 1st January we will no longer be making a direct charge for this service in line with the University’s plans to cease interdepartmental charging, however there is still a cost to the university so only confidential waste should be disposed of using this service.
For small volumes an alternative to this service is for you to purchase your own 'cross-cut' shredder. Please contact the purchasing office or ESPO for further advice if required.
Cardboard - This can be recycled and will be picked up by the Facilities Management team on a frequent basis, we would be grateful if you could break down boxes as flat as possible to aid removal.
