Facilities services
Facilities Services incorporates the day-to-day operational services within FM. It provides a ‘Teaching and Office’ service that delivers teaching support, caretaking, cleaning and postal services. The section provides building and engineering maintenance for responsive and planned repairs, and maintains all utilities services across campus. The section is led by Andy Sweeney– Assistant Director Facilities Services.
Condition Survey - the condition of university buildings and roads is assessed on a rolling programme and available via a database.
Grounds - including sports maintenance and gardens are maintained and developed by a qualified team of gardeners and arboriculturists.
FM Store - supports the daily services of the department.
Building and Barrier Access, Keys and Signs - are managed within this section.
Transport Management - there is a planned function to enable a more co-ordinated approach to fleet management.
Teaching Support - provides a complete equipment and technical support service to all academic departments and external conferences.
Domestic Services - provides a range of essential services which contribute towards creating a secure and clean environment for work and study.
Mailroom Services - provides a collection and delivery service of external and internal mail for all departments.
Service Levels - The Service Level Statement stipulates agreed standards.
Energy Management - The University has a full time Energy Manager and Energy Technician who have responsibility for both reporting and reducing the energy consumption, financial expenditure and carbon emissions across the campus.
