Individual File Store
Store your work documents in a safe place which is regularly backed up and always available to you. In computer labs and (for staff) on your staff windows 7 service computer, this appears as Documents. Thus you can work at your desk and your document will be available in the Library or other computer lab. You can also connect over the wireless network or (students) from your HallNet wired connection. You can also connect from Off Campus if you download and use the AnyConnect VPN Client.

Individual Web Space
If you wish to create your own web pages, create a file called index.html or index.htm in the folder webpages in your Individual File Store. For more details read the readme.htm file in that folder.
Coming Soon: Group Workspace
Group Workspaces are for groups of staff or groups of staff and students, and allow access and sharing of files by people with a shared interest. For each Workspace there is a list of users who can read and another list of users who can both read and write files and folders. There is also a third list of "managers" who can maintain the lists of users, and who are expected to manage the area.
For example, in IT Services this could translate to our teams, while Facilities Management may have a "Building Plans" workspace, writeable by a few people and readable by more. Research Groups could have their own workspaces. Groups of students working on a project may, with the agreement of their academic department, be given a group workspace.
Staff Shared File Store
For staff only, also known as Department shared drive, more staff shared file store can be created for Research Groups. On Labs computers and staff Windows 7 service computers this is available as a shortcut on the desktop and from Computer.

Group File Store
This is an area of disk space that can be set up for groups of students, or staff and students, to use for sharing files and resources for work related purposes. For example, this could be used for students working on the same undergraduate project to share data and documents.
The file space can be accessed from computer labs, hall, and staff offices using the Staff Desktop or Windows 7 Service. Access to the file space is controlled so that it is restricted to a nominated list of people. This list can either be managed by IT Services or at the request of a department by a member of staff in a department, normally a member of IT staff.
