Printer Request Form for 'old' printers

Fill in this form if you have a network printer and require a print queue to be configured,  i.e. a printer which is to be attached to the network to be shared by more than one user, and the method using WINS does not work.

Please complete all the sections. If you have any problems completing the form please contact  IT.Services@lboro.ac.uk, or telephone the Service Desk on  222333.

This information is important because it is used in the naming of the print queue.

 


Operating Systems on PCs that will use the printer( please tick as many boxes as appropriate):

This always consists of 12 digits and characters, e.g. 08000763994b or 08:00:07:63:99:4b

The Mac address can be obtained by printing out the configuration page from the printer.

The exact sequence can be obtained from the printer user manual and will usually be something like:

  1. Take printer off-line.
  2. Press 'menu' until 'Information menu' appears.
  3. Press 'item' until 'Print configuration' appears.
  4. Press 'select' to print config. page.

IMPORTANT
Please ensure that the printer is unpacked powered up and tested before you return this request. The printer needs to be connected to the network and powered up before it can be configured therefore please ensure that it remains in this state.
