Installation Problems
Any operating errors, e.g. configuration problems, etc. will be recorded in the system event log. To view this, use the Event Viewer utility (in the Administrative Tools in the Control Panel). Select Application Log and you will see any messages issued by Pcounter. There is also a file reject.txt that logs jobs that don't print with a reason.
Non-charged printing
Staff on the Windows XP Staff Desktop Service should be printing direct to the printer via TCP/IP using an I.P. name as documented in the service installation instructions.
New Charged Printing procedure
There will be a new Staff Charged Printing procedure (usually only for the A0 printer).
Staff will apply if they want their prints to be charged to a department or an identified group of individuals via Design and Print Services.
Staff who do not require group accounting will buy credits prior to printing (like students).
Staff who do join the new service will be granted unlimited charged printing. The department or identified group of individual will be billed monthly / quarterly for the amount printed.
Provision will be made for staff members who want to join this new service and have credits on their accounts.
Service limitations:- staff are only allowed to be a member of one group and staff have to opt for one system or the other (individual account or group account).
