Windows Summary

Introduction

IT Services only support Microsoft Windows XP SP3, Vista and Windows 7.

These steps will take you through configuring your computer to use the network and network services, and also installing the supported software. If you have any problems connecting, please bring your computer to the PC Clinic, Ground Floor of the Haslegrave Building between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday during term time (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during holidays).

HallNet Connection

There are four stages to connecting to the HallNet service:

  1. Configure networking on your machine

  2. Updating your operating system

  3. Installing antivirus software and

  4. Registering on HallNet

Once you've connected to the network, there are a number of extra services available on either HallNet or our Wireless network. These can be found under the menu and include printing (to any of our lab printers), wireless configuration, software for students, network file storage and Google e-mail, apps and docs.
