Loughborough Staff and Students Visiting Other HEIs - eduroam
Using IT Facilities at Other HEIs
What is it?
eduroam allows Loughborough staff and students to take their laptops to other Educational Institutions worldwide, and connect using their Loughborough userid and password.
Getting ready before you go
Once you are set up to use the eduroam wireless network at Loughborough, you are set up to use it worldwide. Staff Desktop XP users additional steps.
Connecting when at another HEI
Once you are at the remote site you will be prompted for your eduroam username and password. You should use your normal Loughborough username (e.g. "ccpips") followed by "@lboro.ac.uk" and then your normal Active Directory login password. Note that even though this contains an @ sign, it is not your e-mail address, it is your login name (two character department code followed by initials and perhaps a number) followed by "@lboro.ac.uk".
Legal Stuff
All users of the eduroam service are required to adhere to our Acceptable Use Policy and any equivalent policies of the academic institution they are visiting, and the Users section of the JANET Roaming Policy.
