Engineering Events
Engineering Experience - 12th and 13th April 2011 - EVENT FULLY BOOKED. NO FURTHER PLACES AVAILABLE.
The Faculty of Engineering has been running this highly successful two-day event for the last 21 years. Engineering Experience takes place once a year in April and is always extremely popular.
Open to year 12 (lower sixth form) students, the event, which costs £45 to take part (to cover meals and accommodation), gives an insight into engineering at university.
During their stay at the University, students have the opportunity to:
- visit four different engineering departments (from a choice of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Civil and Building Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering.)
- learn about different engineering options
- talk to lecturers and tutors about engineering courses
- experience student accommodation, Student Union and catering

National Science and Engineering Week 2011 (14th-18th March 2011)
The Faculty of Engineering will be offering a number of free hands-on workshops to local primary and secondary schools. To find out more, visit www.lboro.ac.uk/nsew.
University Open Days - June 30, September 21 & 22, 2011
There will be three University-wide open days in 2011. All three events share the following features:
- Each open day runs from 10.00am until 4.00pm
- Each department will be giving guided tours & demonstrations throughout the day
- Typical student accommodation and other university facilities will also be on display
- The University is less than a mile from junction 23 of the M1 towards Loughborough
- A shuttle bus will run between the train station and the campus from 10.00 to 3.30pm
- Free shuttle buses will operate round campus all day

UCAS applicants
After the second open day in September opportunities to visit the University may be given to those who place Loughborough on their UCAS form. Those who are invited for interview or are offered a place will be able to visit the department and experience the facilities of the University between December and March.
