Background
Born in Nawton, North Yorkshire, attended Lady Lumley's School, Pickering. BEng (Mechanical Engineering (Hons) DIS, 1999) & PhD (Mechanical Engineering, 2004) attained at Loughborough University. 3 seasons in motorsport engine design with Ilmor Engineering Ltd. & 3 years with LMS International before re-joining Loughborough University in Oct. 2009 as Lecturer, Sports Technology Research Group.

Research, analysis, design and testing of sports equipment and integrated training systems in particular w.r.t. structural statics and dynamics, optical measurement techniques & intelligent system instrumentation.
Advanced manufacturing technologies and materials, including computer modelling techniques thereof.
Particular sport interests in high-performance cycling and sailing.
