Welcome to the Department of Politics, History and International Relations! We are a fantastic department and pride ourselves on providing an outstanding student experience, a friendly and collegial atmosphere, and top-rated research.

We currently have around 25 full time academics in the department with wide-ranging expertise and extensive links with scholarly networks and beyond. Our innovative research invigorates our teaching, and we are committed to promoting a strong sense of community and identity among our students.
Our students, whether they are undergraduates or pursuing a master degree or doctorate, are extremely competent and intelligent. They amaze us with their achievements. When they graduate from us they use their knowledge and skills to shape the global community we live in.
