Research
The Department is a thriving and supportive research community with a proven record for publications of international excellence. Both English and Drama offer supervision by well-published scholars and practitioners with international reputations, leading to the degrees of MPhil and PhD. English staff supervise research in most areas of post-medieval literature in English and American Literature and Film, plus certain areas of linguistics; Drama staff supervise practical, textual, theoretical and historical research in most areas of theatre and performance studies.
