IComputer Games and Virtual Worlds Theme

This theme is concerned with computer game-play theory, computer game preservation issues and identity aspects in both Massively-Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) and Multi-User Virtual Environments (MUVE). The areas of research include:

Area 1: Preservation of computer games
            - Computer games as cultural artefacts
            - Preservation policies for saving cultural artefacts

Area 2: Avatar creation in MUVE and MMOG
            - Identity in digital computer games and MUVE.
            - Player attitudes to avatar creation in different social settings
