Background
Educated at UMIST. After graduation, worked as trouble shooting engineer with Lennig Chemicals. Joined Exeter University as a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering in 1973, becoming Reader in Particle Technology in 1986 and Professor of Process Engineering in the School of Engineering in 1990. Visiting Engineer, University of California, Berkeley, in 1980. Joined Loughborough University as Professor of Chemical Engineering in 1995. Associate Dean (Research) 1997-2000.
